Zur Mikrostruktur des Exportbooms

    Research output: Working paperWorking papers

    Abstract

This paper uses plant level longitudinal data from official statistics to investigate the micro-structure of the recent German export boom. It is shown that firms inside industries, technology groups, and size classes are rather heterogenous. Neither firm size, nor industry, nor the rate of change of wage costs is statistically significantly related to the probability of growth of exports. Changes in labor productivity and export dynamics are correlated positively; however, this effect is rather small.
