    Abstract

Reinhold Hedtke’s “Das Sozioökonomische Curriculum” is based on the conviction that a socio-scientifically informed and enlightened examination of the subject area of economy in society as well as society in the economy is indispensable for the education of all members of society (Hedtke 2018). This makes it clear that in socio-economic education, Hedtke is concerned with the “educational value” of social science knowledge, which is not inherent in it, but whose relevance for the personal development of the learner can only be demonstrated through a special didactic approach. For the first time, this has been achieved systematically and comprehensively within the framework of “Das Sozioökonomische Curriculum”. This article gives a little insight into Reinhold Hedtke’s work “Das Sozioökonomische Curriculum”, which we would explicitly and emphatically describe as the oeuvre of problem-oriented education of the subject in socio-economic lessons.
