    Abstract

Firstly it is shown that at thin-walled closed cross sections the shear stresses uniformly distributed over the wall thickness as a part of the primary torsion shear stresses can be determined without detour about the computation of the torsion shear flows. Secondly a form of the displacement method is presented, with which the secondary torsion shear stresses can be determined numerically based. And thirdly a comfortable summation formula is developed to the computation of the warping shear coefficients. At all formulations it is not more necessary to distinguish between open, one or multiple closed and mixed open-closed cross-sections. Because of their simple formalism they are especially suited for programming. © 2005, VDI Fachmedien GmBbH & Co.. All rights reserved.
