Abstract
This chapter-based on the results of a 40-student research class-allowed students to create their own research questions and answer them using self-collected data. The students used Imitation Games to gather the data presented in this chapter. The purpose of the class was to consider different aspects of the broad term “identity.” The class focused on the 2015 “summer of migration, " German attitudes toward the Muslim migrants, and what constitutes German identity. This chapter includes a critique of the Imitation Game methodology.
