Abstract
The Coexistence Archive: Traces of the Participatory Design Conference (PDC) is a situated action that explores recording and listening as a participatory practice. Installed in a semi-public area of PDC 2026 in Milan, the archive invites participants to record short voice memos and sounds reflecting on peace, dialogue, and coexistence. These individual traces will merge into a collective sound composition, respectively, an evolving sonic portrait of the PDC community. Beyond documenting the event, the Coexistence Archive reimagines the archive as a living, participatory infrastructure that listens, connects, and continues to resonate beyond the conference.
