Abstract
The author focuses on problem-based learning in music classes. He is particularly interested in learning outcomes and their processing. Pupils at the age of m=13 years took part in this study, which was based on a mixed-method-design. They were asked to compose melodies after listening to an anchor story. Findings suggest that instruction as well as the ways and types of learning cues that were given to the students are crucial factors.
