Abstract
Promoting entrepreneurship among socioeconomically disadvantaged populations can help to support multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In particular, it can help to support inclusive and equitable quality education (SDG 4) and economic growth, productive employment, and decent work (SDG 8). Research findings are reviewed to draw and highlight insights into interventions that are likely to be particularly effective to benefit socioeconomically disadvantaged entrepreneurs. Evidence in the organizational sciences has examined the effectiveness of individual-level psychological interventions in terms of education, training, and coaching/mentorship. We found evidence in favor of interventions that promote an active orientation via the use of action heuristics/principles to support entrepreneurial skill development for broader psychological empowerment.
