Abstract
It is proposed that the tensile flanges be strengthened by means of reinforced concrete connector units, with dowel bolts as additional anchorage elements to ensure permanent bond and composite action also under not predominantly static loads. The effectiveness of the technique as a whole has been confirmed experimentally.
