Abstract
Gender competence is a highly relevant meta-competence for police leaders to manage police departments in a professional and timely manner. The purpose of this chapter is to strengthen the reader's ability to deal with the social significance of the category of gender and to acquire gender-specific knowledge. This is intended to enable them to act in a gender-sensitive manner, to make non-discriminatory management decisions and to implement gender main streaming in police organizations in a practice-oriented manner.
