Abstract
The social and political demands of civil unrest are all to easily reduced to depictions of direct, manifest – in contrast to latent structural – violence or to just another instance of representatives of the state power struggling with protestors. Starting from that premise, the research and exhibition project Front, Field, Line, Plane: Researching the Militant Image questioned how political and social struggles – and state violence – are represented, mediated, and circulated through images and architecture
