Abstract

The present study examined whether the Fragebogen zur Erfassung multipler Selbstkonzeptfacetten bei Förderschülern (Schwerpunkt Lernen) und Regelschülern der Sekundarstufe I by Weber and Freund (2017) is also suitable for measuring the self-concept of children in primary school. The sample included N = 416 children attending Grade 4. Confirmatory factor analyses confirmed the multidimensional structure of the scales. The reliability estimates of all scales were satisfactory (.73 ≤ α ≤.89,.84 ≤ ω ≤.93). The scales showed theory-conforming gender differences and correlations with external criteria. The questionnaire therefore represents a reliable, valid, and economical instrument for measuring content-specific facets of the self-concept of children and adolescents aged between 8 and 18 years.
