Abstract
This issue focuses on the medialities and aesthetics of care. It brings together contributions that put specific media, knowledge, and material politics of care into context, and it situates them in terms of a relational thinking of networks of dependency and responsibility. Its discussions are inscribed within the history of (neo)liberal and (post)welfare-state socialization and its continuing mode of crisis, which has been exposed by the corona pandemic as a crisis of care – they address queer and crip aesthetics of care, counterdocumentary practices and (media) histories of resistance, and a de_colonial media studies that cares for the possibilities of other political and scholarly futures.
