Abstract
Since the early 1990s, internet-based technologies have become a significant field of public health. Numerous applications provide informational, entertainment- and peer-to-peer-based content on health promotion and disease prevention. The present paper introduces fields of application and summarizes selected opportunities and challenges of digital public health.
