Abstract
A strong culture is considered an important distinguishing feature of successful companies. A critical factor for success are the leaders. They are seen as key to maintaining the existing corporate culture and initiating a culture change. This chapter highlights the important role that leaders play in shaping corporate culture. In addition to a theoretical introduction, fields of action are identified that are important for leaders to consider in practice. In particular, leaders should be aware of their role model function and approach the topic of corporate culture holistically in order to sustainably influence the culture to anchor in companies. They can use methods and techniques, some of which are presented in this chapter.
