Abstract

There is a widespread use for writing letters, including writing letters to friends or
relatives, the correspondence with authorities, writing complaints about orders or
writing job applications. Therefore, this article presents a retrospective critical re-
view of studies related to this topic, trying to identify results that are still relevant
today. Furthermore, we also shed light on studies using digital tools that make
writing instruction more effective.
