Abstract
n the framework of various neo-capital theories, this paper goes into the debate about how to determine spiritual or religious capital, and the concepts of religion and spirituality on which such capital forms would be based. It proposes an original approach which involves a distinction between spiritualizing and spiritual, exoteric religious and esoteric religious capital. These terms are further explained by applying them to current developments in the Afro-Brazilian Candomblé religion.
