Abstract
„One should not identify a formal, unified and underlying exceptionalism as distinguished from the norm, as do Schmitt, Agamben and securitization theory, but only an array of dispersed appearances. [...] one should ask after the 'positivity' of exceptionalism rather than question the 'critical legitimacy' of its legality/extra-legality, normality/necessity, coherence/ contradiction, or continuity/irruption.“(Neal 2006: 45).
