Description
The German decision to phase-out nuclear energy and the impact of such a policy on electricity prices and the fulfillment of climate goals has been debated nationally as well as on European level. This study develops the expected effects by means of a European electricity market model and quantifies price developments, power plant investments, CO2 emissions and prices in different scenarios in regard to nuclear energy in Germany. In addition, the impact on electricity trades are studied.
