Valentin Feneberg is a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Public Policy and Law at Leuphana University Lüneburg. He previously worked as a research assistant at the German Center for Integration and Migration Research (DeZIM) and served as a research coordinator and researcher at the Integrative Research Institute Law & Society at Humboldt University Berlin. Valentin specializes on the politics of law and courts, as well as on (forced) migration studies. In 2024, he was a visiting research fellow at the Refugee Studies Centre and the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies at the University of Oxford. Valentin is a co-editor of the German Journal of Forced Migration and Refugee Studies. His book ‘Die Heimat der Anderen’ (The Home of Others) on Country of Origin Information in asylum procedures received the Humboldt Prize and the Dietrich Thränhardt Dissertation Prize. In 2025, he received the Klaus J. Bade Prize for Migration and Integration Research.
