Solvejg Wolfers-Pommerenke joined the Institute of English Studies at Leuphana University Lüneburg in February 2021 (Professorship: Prof Dr Anne Barron). Besides working on research projects of the institute and her own academic advancement, she teaches the seminar “Language, Communication, and Discourse”. From 2017 to 2021 Solvejg Wolfers-Pommerenke pursued her PhD at the Centre for Applied Linguistics at the University of Warwick in England. The title of her doctoral thesis is „Team cohesion as a discursively negotiated process – An ethnographic study of a professional football team.“ Solvejg Wolfers-Pommerenke‘s research interests include discourse analysis, interactional sociolinguistics, ethnography, intercultural communication, gender relations, leadership discourse, language and discrimination, and the multiple uses and functions of humour.
