- März 1998 bis August 2002: wissenschaftlicher Assistent am Fachgebiet für empirische Wirtschafts- und Sozialforschung der Universität Dortmund.
- Von 1996 bis 1997: Geschäftsführer des Betriebswirtschaftlichen Instituts für empirische Gründungs- und Organisationsforschung e.V. (bifego) in Dortmund.
- 1996: Promotion zum Dr. rer. pol.
- Anschließend mehrjährige Tätigkeit zunächst in Controlling- und Planungsabteilungen eines großen Industrieunternehmens, anschließend Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter des Fachbereichs Wirtschaftswissenschaft FernUniversität Hagen
- 1983-1988: Studium der Betriebswirtschaftslehre und Volkswirtschaftslehre an der Universität Dortmund (Abschluss Diplom-Kaufmann).
- Geboren 1962 in Dortmund.
