Micha Gerrit Philipp Edlich is the director of the Writing Center for Academic English at Leuphana Universität Lüneburg in Lüneburg, Germany. He worked as a graduate teaching assistant in the Department of Modern Languages at Ohio University in Athens, OH, as a lecturer in the first-year writing program at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, and as an instructor in the American Studies Program at Johannes Gutenberg Universität in Mainz, Germany. In the academic year 2009-2010, he was a fellow at Columbia University in the City of New York. He is currently completing his dissertation on contemporary environmental life writing, in which engages auto/biography studies, ecocriticism, and animal studies to read a variety of hybrid texts by North American activists, academics, and writers. His research interests also include food studies, discard studies, comics studies, as well as composition and rhetoric.
