Curriculum
Marie van Treek is a doctoral student and research fellow at the Department of Social and Political Psychology. She is also a member of the Negotiation Research Group.
In her research, Marie deals with present generations’ negotiations on the exploitation of resources (e.g., forest stands or fresh water sources) that are also needed by generations to come. The agreements of these so-called intergenerational negotiations therefore not only affect directly the living conditions of present generations, but also those of future generations. In the sense of a transformational negotiation research with an ecological and social reference, Marie is interested in the structural barriers that negotiators encounter in intergenerational negotiations. Furthermore, she also investigates the underlying psychological processes that arise in intergenerational negotiations and how intergenerational conflicts can be solved through negotiation.
Marie van Treek also works as a research fellow in the German-Israeli research project “Mental Accounting in Allocation Negotiations” funded by the Volkswagen Foundation.
