Jürgen Jacobs is a Professor of Business Information Systems in the Institute of Analytic Management at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg, Germany. He received his PhD in Physics from the University of Bonn, Germany, in 1985. Thereafter, he occupied various positions (systems analyst, project manager knowledge based systems, head of customer services, head of application development for marketing systems in Europe) within the IT organisation of DuPont in Germany. From 1992–2004, he was a Professor of Application Programming and Mathematics at the University of Applied Sciences Nordostniedersachsen, Germany. His research interests include analytical information systems for decision support and forecasting in business and economy.
