Curriculum

Irina Pandarova is a PhD student at the Institute of English Studies and teaches and conducts research in English linguistics there. She studied English philology and classical archeology at Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg and English linguistics at Queen’s University Belfast. Her dissertation deals with the semantics and pragmatics of English sentence adverbs and the use of sure in American, British and Irish English. She is also interested in the semantics/pragmatics interface more generally, especially from the perspective of relevance theory, corpus linguistics as well as language variation and change.
