Elena Eckert ist wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Management und Organisation im Bereich BWL insb. Tourismusmanagement. Dort befasst sie sich mit der Beurteilung von Nachhaltigkeit in der Reisebranche. Ihr Studium mit den Schwerpunkten Nachhaltigkeit und Destinationsmanagement absolvierte sie an der Hochschule Bremen.
