Studies in philosophy, cultural studies, and German studies at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, the University of Bremen, and as a visiting student at the Uniwersytet Gdański (Poland). 2006 to 2009, member of the German division for "Human Rights and Cultures" with the European UNESCO-Chair of Philosophy (Paris) at the University of Bremen. 2007 to 2009, doctoral scholarship from the Central Research Funding of University of Bremen. 2010 PhD in philosophy at the University of Bremen with a thesis titled "Humanism and Cultural Criticism. Ernst Cassirer's Work in American Exile". Beginning in 2010, research assistant for the project "Aesthetics, Literature, and Literary Theory" (project director: Christoph Jamme), part of the multinational research association "The Impact of Idealism. The Legacy of post-Kantian German Thought" at Leuphana University Lüneburg. Since 2011, research associate at Leuphana College as coordinator of the study module "Science Teaches Understanding". Member of the scientific advisory board of "Rivista Internazionale di Filosofia e Psicologia" (Milano), the International Ernst Cassirer Society, and the German Society for Philosophy. Andreas Jürgens is a member of the Senate Commission for Junior Scientists of Leuphana University Lüneburg. He is also a member of the lead committee of Leuphana College.
