Replication file: The Domestic and International Sources of Legislative Action on Economic Sanctions

This replication file contains the following documents:
1. "1_dofile_analysis": The Stata do-file used to replicate the entire statistical analysis. The code also contains some instructions (*instructions).
2. "2_analysis_data.dta": The dataset for the statistical analysis (Stata file).
3. "3_replication_figures.Rmd": An Rmd file containing the R replication code for all the figures in the manuscript and in the Appendix. The R code also contains some instructions (#instruction).
4. "4_figures_data.xlsx": The dataset for generating the figures (Excel file).
5. "5_FPA_replication.log": Log file with Stata results.
6. "6_R_log.pdf": Log file with R results.

Please note the following when running the code:
1. "1_dofile_analysis": Replace the working directory in line 5 with the path to the analysis dataset ("2_analysis_data") on your PC. If you do not have the relogit package make sure to remove the "*" in line 9 to install the relogit package.
2. "3_replication_figures": Replace the R code in line 31 to the working directory where analysis dataset "2_analysis_data.dta" is saved and line 203 with the path to figures dataset ("4_figures_data") on your PC. Make sure that you have downloaded all necessary packages. If you do not already have the necessary packages installed, please remove all # before the commands install.packages("...") in the code.
3. Table 2 in the manuscript simply summarizes the main results from Tables 3-10 in the Appendix. It was created manually in Word.
4. Table 11 in the Appendix simply lists the countries targeted by legislation in the time period of the study. It was not generated using Stata or R.
