ESCAE covers the electoral campaigns of 118 parties in 42 national parliamentary elections in the 11 EU member states of Central and Eastern Europe: Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia between 2000 and 2016. It measures the salience on anti-corruption claims and on anti-establishment rhetoric in the parties’ campaigns. The dataset consists of two waves. The first wave was conducted in spring 2016 and covers national parliamentary elections between 2000 and March 2016. The second wave was conducted in spring 2017 and covers all national parliamentary elections in 2016.
