Aspects of Learning Background and Learning Development (LAU)

The study Aspects of Learning Background and Learning Development (LAU) is a longitudinal study that has tested almost all Hamburg students in the fifth grade of the year 1996 at an interval of two school years until their final schoolyear in 2005. Learning backgrounds of students and learning development were tested. LAU5 focused on the transition between primary school and lower secondary level, as well as on selected aspects of the learning situation. LAU7 focused on differences in performance between different types of schools (Hauptschule, Realschule and Gymnasium). LAU9, as well as LAU11, was devoted to the description and analysis of the students' learning development. LAU13 concludes the study with a survey of the competence levels achieved at the end of the school course. (IQB)
