    What are the implications once we realize the cultural dimension of sustainability? This question includes but also goes beyond the opposition between integrative and pillarized sustainability. At the interface of culture, the arts and sustainability, some of the most problematic aspects of sustainability science come to the foreground, and alternative approaches are allowed to emerge.
