Abstract
When stakeholders collaborate with researchers in developing
solutions to societal problems, high-quality and
implementable solutions can result. Transdisciplinary
research allows researchers, experts, decision makers,
and citizens to contribute to solution-oriented research.
This research is particularly suitable for complex sustainability
challenges, which aff ect the public and require
collective problem-solving efforts. Transdisciplinary
research’s wider adoption depends on the willingness to
secure resources, expertise, and institutional support.
