Blinde Flecken des Modells der drei Basisdimensionen von Unterrichtsqualität? Das Modell im Spiegel einer internationalen Synthese von Merkmalen der Unterrichtsqualität

The present paper forms the basis of the following papers in this special issue on teaching quality from a generic and subject-specific perspective. It presents a model that is widely used in German-speaking countries, namely the three basic dimensions model, and discusses whether dimensions of teaching quality exist which are not covered with the three basic dimensions model. For doing so, a current synthesis of 12 internationally used frameworks on teaching quality in the subject of Mathematics is used as a reference. This framework contains seven generic and subject-specific dimensions. Comparing the three basic dimensions to this synthesis framework reveals that the model focusses only on parts of the synthesis framework. In discussing the implications, the question arises to what extent the dimensions of the synthesis can be transferred to subjects other than Mathematics. This question is addressed in the following papers of the special issue.
