Werdegang

Joanna is a graduate of the Centre for Cultural Studies, Goldsmiths University of London. She is currently working on a PhD thesis focussed around the issue of work and labour within the creative and cultural sector, as well as internships, unpaid work and self-organising in the art and cultural sectors.

Joanna is employed as a researcher at Innovations-Inkubator, Center for Digital Cultures Leuphana Universitat. Since 01.10.2011 she is also employed as a visiting lecturer at the Dept. of Media and Communications, Goldsmiths.

Current Projects:

Metropolitan Factory: making a living in a creative city.
Beginning in 2011 and today in the final stage of data collection, the project looks at the conditions of organisation and self-management of everyday life and work among the workers and producers in the field of culture and art in major cities, such as for example London, Amsterdam, Berlin and New York. Joanna is the co-author/collaborator together with Dr. Stevphen Shukaitis, University of Essex. The project is funded by the British Academy Small Grant via the University of Essex.
