Werdegang

During my bachelor’s degree in Language and Literature (major) and Art History (minor) at the University of Hamburg, I started to explore technical motifs in art and literature. In my thesis, I then examined the automaton motif in E.T.A. Hoffmann’s “The Sandman” within the context of the historical blurring of boundaries between humans and machines. In the years that followed, my interest shifted to the phenomenon of artificial intelligence and algorithmic media. Consequently, I pursued my master’s degree at Leuphana University Lüneburg in the master’s program “Cultural Studies: Media and Digital Cultures" where I prioritized the philosophy of media and technology. My master’s thesis there examined the cybernetic determination of the autonomous subject, that is, the algorithmic conditioning of its subjectification. I am now continuing my exploration of the entanglements of the world at algorithmic interfaces in my dissertation on the algorithmic ecosystem.
